REUNION CRUISE 2003
On June 19th, seven hardy former
seaman of the USS W.S. SIMS with their wives
and families departed for four days to
the Western Caribbean aboard the Carnival
"Fun Ship" SS Imagination! Here is the itinerary of
the cruise:
As you can see below a great time
was had by all that participated. However, we need more pictures and
testimonials. Please send your pictures and memories to DENNIS
WALTERMAN and
ROB MUIRHEAD.
We want to thank Anna Marie Ippolito who, we understand, took over organizing
the activities for Denny and Barney who unexpectedly had to be AWOL.
Plans are already in the works for an October USS WS SIMS Reunion 2004 in Las
Vegas. Let us know where you suggest we stay and what you would
like to do when we get together.

TESTIMONIALS |
"The reunion
cruise was great. My wife and I enjoyed it very much. At first I
was concerned about knowing any of the other people that attended however
after the first 10 minutes I felt like those that I did not know
were old friends. After we all had a chance to talk about the old
days aboard the Sims it all came back to me people and places and
things that happened. So if the reason that you did not come to
the reunion was that you would not know anyone I can assure you
that before it is over you will have new friends. At the reunion
we discussed having another reunion meeting in Las Vegas in
October of 2004. I hope that by then many more will attend it will
only make the reunion that much better."

Seven Sims veterans made it to this
shindig. Hopefully this number will grow as time goes on. Had a
great time. My daughter, Amber, joined us on the cruise. On the
third day while watching the sunrise, her boyfriend, Josh,
proposed. (she said yes.)

"Just
got home from the cruise. It was ... unbelievable. The food was
great, the beer was cold, and the Bulls__t was fantastic. This was
the first of many I hope, and I hope I make every one of them.
Whoever did the leg work on this, my hat goes off to them. We missed
you all that could not make it, but please don't miss the next one.
We renewed old friendships that I hope last a lifetime!!!"

| "We
really enjoyed our 4 day cruise....it was a fun time. Since
this was such a new experience for us we had to check everything out
as we didn't want to miss anything...Ha. ... Of
course there were also many restaurants and breakfast lunch and
dinner every day and lots of time spent visiting with Lynn's Navy
buddies... I can't possibly tell you everything about the trip or
send all the pictures we took but I can tell you that we ALL had an
amazing time.... Hope to see you soon."

"Pat
and I just had a great time! Probably the best vacation we have had
in the 30 years we have been married. Those of us on the
cruise would like to attempt another reunion in the fall of 2004 at
Las Vegas. If there is some interest from some of you out
there, we would be glad to host the show and make it work. I'll have
additional stories and ideas in a day or so."
